Hey there! I have two new video tutorials that show how to make a split birthday card and coordinating envelope. Click on the image below to see the card making video. There is also an envelope liner video. The written the step-by-step instructions can be found in this Blog post.
How-to make this card:
Start with 7" x 10" white card stock, scored at 5" to make a 5" x 7" card.
"Split" the card front by cutting 3 1/2" down from the top and then across to the spine of the card. Then cut down the spine to the horizontal cut line.
Front : Green mat is 3 1/2" x 5", Patterned paper mat is 3 1/4" x 4 3/4"
Circle medallion is made with #Spellbinders circle dies and a "Happy Birthday" stamp
Inside: Green mat is 5" x 7", White mat is 4 3/4" x 6 3/4". Emboss top half of white mat with #Darice Retro Circle embossing mat. Add sentiment on lower, un-embossed half so it is hidden behind front circle medallion.
Lined envelope:
Envelope is 7 1/4" W x 5 1/4" T (7 3/4" T when flap is open)
Cut paper liner 7"W x 7 1/4" T, insert in envelope, lightly mark bottom opening with pencil
Fold over flap with liner paper in place and reinforce flap crease
Remove paper liner and emboss top part to pencil line with an embossing folder
Bring top edges together at corners and cut an angle to align with the envelope flap edges
Re-insert paper liner in envelope and apply adhesive to top edge and sides; fold over top flap and press to adhere paper liner to flap
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and that you are inspired to create something today!
