Watercolor Butterfly bookmark made from an old book page

Writer's picture: Vintage Hill StudioVintage Hill Studio

This handmade bookmark was made using a page from circa 1950's Reader's Digest Condensed Books page. The book was in poor shape with disintegrating binding so it was not hard for me to repurpose a page to make a bookmark. The old pages are very conducive to watercolor and so I stamped and water colored the butterfly and flower images and then laminated the bookmark to protect the painting and to give it more stability.
